Dar es Salaam. Simba will be without goalie Moussa Camara and central defender Che Malone Fondoh for their upcoming Premier League match against Coastal Union scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Both players sustained injuries during Simba’s 2-2 draw against Azam FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Monday night.
Che Malone sustained a knee injury and was substituted in the first half whereas goalkeeper Camara, who played the full 90 minutes, felt thigh strain during the game, prompting an on-field treatment.
Simba’s Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, confirmed that both players are still undergoing treatment, therefore, will not feature in the match against Coastal Union.
"Che Malone sustained an injury and couldn’t continue with the game, while Moussa finished the 90 minutes of play but wasn't feeling well. Both have undergone tests, and we are awaiting results," Mr Ally stated.
"We’ll update you on Che Malone’s condition once we receive more information from the hospital. Otherwise, everyone else is fine and has returned to training," he added.
The absence of these key defensive players comes just a week before Simba faces rivals Yanga in a crucial match for the Premier League title on March 8 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Camara has been an important figure for Simba, having played in every league match this season, conceding only eight goals, with a remarkable 15 consecutive league matches without allowing a goal.
