Dar es Salaam. Six Tanzanian lady golfers are set to represent the country at the highly anticipated Johnnie Walker Uganda Open Golf Championship 2025, a prestigious 54-hole stroke play tournament teeing off today at the scenic Lugazi Hills Golf and Country Club.
The golfers—Vicky Elias, Yasmin Chali, Neema Olomi, Madina Idd, Rechal Mushi, and Hadija Athuman—have been officially endorsed by the National Sports Council (NSC) ahead of their participation.
According to Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) Competition Secretary General, Rehema Athumani, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most competitive on the regional calendar, attracting top talents from across East Africa and beyond.

Her back-to-back successes have injected confidence and optimism into the Tanzanian camp, raising hopes that she can once again stamp her authority on the regional golf scene.
Speaking on the eve of the tournament, Rehema emphasized the team’s thorough preparations and readiness to compete at the highest level.
“The golfers trained intensively, and we are confident they will perform well in the event. Typically, our lady golfers excel outside the country, and we have no doubt about their abilities,” she said.
