Yanga face Coastal Union in NBC premier League

Dar es Salaam. Football giants Young Africans (Yanga) today face the acid test of Coastal Union of Tanga at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam as the mainland Tanzania NBC Premier League continues at three different venues.

Apart from the Dar es Salaam duel, which is to kickoff at 6.15pm, another match today expected to be tough will pit Ruvu Shooting and Mtibwa Sugar at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, starting at 4pm and Namungo FC hosting Ihefu FC at the Majaliwa Stadium from 8.15pm.

However, all eyes and ears are expected to be directed at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Yanga, who are at the top with 41 points, will be targeting victory in order to increase points gap with their traditional rivals, Simba who have collected 37 points from 16 matches. Yanga have so far played 16 matches, winning 13, drawing two and losing one while Coastal Union who are placed 13th in the league log have played 16 matches, winning four, drawing three and losing nine matches.Yanga’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi said they do not underrate their opponent in the encounter and target the best results.

Coastal Union also target victory in order to improve their chances in the league standings. However, Coastal Union head Coach Yusuph Chipo said their main target is to collect all the three points and continue to fight for the best four finisher in the league.
