Yanga Princess eye redemption
For Yanga Princess, today’s final presents an opportunity to lift the trophy and also settle scores with JKT Queens, who have defeated them twice this season.
The first loss came in the Women’s Community Shield on October 5, 2024, where Yanga Princess suffered a 1-0 defeat.
Their second loss occurred on December 17, 2024, in the Premier League, where JKT Queens triumphed with a 2-0 victory.
This final gives Yanga Princess a chance to avenge those defeats and prove their strength on the big stage.
Speaking ahead of the match, Yanga Princess head coach, Edna Lema, expressed confidence in her team’s ability to claim the title.
“My players are ready for this match. We have had a short preparation time, and we know we are facing a strong opponent, but we believe in our ability to win the title,” said Lema.
JKT Queens aim for a second trophy
On the other hand, JKT Queens are determined to maintain their dominance over Yanga Princess and claim their second trophy of the season.
Having already won the Women’s Community Shield, JKT Queens will be motivated to complete a double triumph before the league season ends.
JKT Queens head coach Esther Chaburuma is confident that her team can secure victory once again.
“Finals are always tough, but preparation is key. The outcome will depend on how well my players execute our strategies on the pitch,” said Chaburuma.
