Dar es Salaam. As Simba departed for Francistown, Botswana, ahead of tomorrow’s CAF Champions League encounter against Jwaneng Galaxy, Yanga’s fans have a reason to smile following the recovery of their first-choice goalkeeper, Djgui Diarra.

Simba left the country by air ahead of the encounter scheduled to kickoff at 4pm Tanzanian time at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Botswana.

The club officials had to hire a special plane due to the travel challenges between Gaborone and Francistown.

As per the schedule, Simba players will train this evening under their new coach, Abdelhak Benchikha, at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium ready for tomorrow’s encounter.

Simba information manager Ahmed Ally said they have taken all precautions ahead of the match, and the good news is that all the players are ready for the encounter.

Ally said Benchikha targets to take the team to the next level of development. “The players are ready for the encounter and had a good time with our new head coach, Benchikha from Algeria. We are expecting to come out with the best result,” said Ally.

Simba, having secured just one point from their previous encounter against Asec Mimosas, are eager to clinch victory against Jwaneng Galaxy in order to enhance their chances of progressing to the knockout stage.

The 1-1 draw against Asec Mimosas at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium served as a wake-up call for the Tanzanian giants, prompting them to regroup and strategise for the upcoming clash.

Jwaneng Galaxy, on the other hand, enter the fray with a confidence-boosting 1-0 victory against Wydad Club Athletic in their opening match at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

With the desire to maintain their winning momentum, Jwaneng Galaxy are poised to give Simba a tough challenge in Group B.

The significance of the encounter between Simba and Jwaneng Galaxy is magnified by the fact that both teams are vying for supremacy in a group where every point counts.

Asec Mimosas and Wydad Club Athletic, the other contenders in Group B, will also lock horns in a match at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, adding an extra layer of complexity to the group dynamics.

Simba's recent acquisition of Algerian tactician Benchikha as the head coach injects a new dimension into the team.

The players are expected to draw inspiration from Benchikha's experience and tactical insight as they seek to secure a pivotal victory.

The encounter against Jwaneng Galaxy marks Benchikha's debut as Simba's head coach, adding an element of anticipation and excitement among the fans.

In the Group D clash, Young Africans (Yanga) face a tough challenge from Al Ahly, the reigning African champions and considered the continent's number one team.

Yanga's quest for redemption follows a disappointing 3-0 defeat in their away match against Algerian side CR Belouizdad.

To keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage alive, Yanga must overcome the formidable Al Ahly.

Yanga have morale boost as their first choice goalkeeper, Djigui Diarra, is fit for the encounter. Diarra missed the first match due to injury, whereby Metacha Mnata led the team in the encounter.

Al Ahly, buoyed by a convincing 3-0 victory against Medeama FC of Ghana in their previous match, enter the encounter with confidence and a desire to maintain their winning streak.

The clash between Yanga and Al Ahly promises to be a battle of skill, strategy, and determination as both teams vie for supremacy in Group D.

The contrasting fortunes of Yanga and Al Ahly in their respective opening matches add an exciting element to their upcoming encounter.

Yanga, driven by the desire to bounce back from their defeat, will need to muster all their strength to overcome the Egyptian side.

As football enthusiasts eagerly await tomorrow's clashes, the CAF Champions League continues to showcase the rich tapestry of African football, where traditional giants and emerging forces collide on the continent's premier stage.

The outcomes of these matches will not only shape the destiny of the competing teams but will also contribute to the legacy of African football, adding new chapters to the ongoing narrative of passion, skill, and rivalry.
