GSM: Superbrand award redefines our confidence in the market

The award was given by the Super­brands East Africa Council, after a thor­ough assessment and selection process that involved several companies in this region.

After scooping up the award, the GSM Group’s management held talks with the Citizen reporter, among other things, they touched about the secret behind the victory plus their next move in stocking up their awards cabinet. The talks were as follows: -

Qns: Congratulations for being named among the Superbrands in East Africa. What does this triumph speak to you?

Ans: A simple invitation made us go from ‘just participating’ to winning it at the end, it was unexpected. This award instills a hardworking spirit and redefines our confidence among ourselves. It is through this accolade, as a GSM Group, we are going cross the lines in cementing the strengths of products and services to our customers.

Qns: How long have you been in this awarding event?

Ans: This is the first time we have been nominated and participated. We are very confident in our brand position with this new milestone attached considering the quality that has been embedded into our offerings.

Qns: GSM Group has been one of the trusted and reliable firms in Tanzania and Africa. What is the key secret?

Ans: The key secret behind this colorful GSM Group’s success story is a blend of hard work, professionalism, innovation and loyalty in our products and services delivery. We are attentive to the clients’ feedback and tailor effective solutions.

Qns: How does the Company set itself apart from competitors in the market?

Ans: GSM Group has been able to build, protect and promote its brand by developing into the most superior and trusted company. What distinguishes it from others is innovative spark, products and services quality and timely service delivery.

Qns: What is probably the next move for GSM Group after this success?

Ans: This is just the beginning, there are a lot more to come with the Super­brands awards and other similar events. One thing for sure is that we are going to strongly advertise our brands and expand our services horizon locally and region wide.

Qns: How will this Superbrands award victory of yours cogitate for increased quality and customer-centered prod­ucts and services offering?

Ans: This accolade is our remarkable publicity, educative and advocacy tool to our customers about the strengths of products and services. Superbrands is a crucial marketing brand influencer and only the outstanding firms win it.

Qns: What are the challenges that the GSM Group face in this changing busi­ness climate?

Ans: Challenges are inevitable delays in the Tanzania-Zambia border as well as Zambia and Congo boarder post crossing at Tunduma area seems to exacerbate the woes for GSM Group. Trucks spend long hours of clearance at the border post.

Qns: What should be done to mitigate challenges?

Ans: We are confident with the reign­ing Governments. We would suggest that our Governments sit together and find a better and friendlier way to fast-track improvement at the border.

Qns: Apart from being named Super- brand, what else do you hold in high esteem currently?

Ans: We are proud of our businesses. Our brand and image are highly trusted and respected. Our logistics and transport firms have picked ISO accreditations. We have also won three different awards this year at the Africa Company of year Awards.

Each of our consumers has developed irreversible trust in the quality of our products and services. Our goals are cen­tered on reaching out to every Tanzanian and across regional markets such as East Africa and SADC. However, the long-term goals of the GSM Group are looking to have a presence in Africa and beyond.
