Mo Dewji Foundation Trust Fund Sh100 million donation to Tumaini la Maisha – 10 Years of Support
Since 2013, The Mo Dewji Foundation Trust Fund has partnered with Tumaini la Maisha, the largest Childhood Cancer Center in Tanzania, to provide free and curative care for children with cancer across Tanzania.
Over the past 10 years, the Mo Dewji Foundation Trust Fund has generously supported Tumaini La Maisha’s clinical and non-clinical programs, including the purchase of chemotherapy drugs, support for the school programs, nutrition programs, transportation for patients and guardians, play therapy programs, life skills training for parents, and welcome packs for newly admitted patients.
This year, on 19th of December 2023, the Mo Dewji Foundation Trust Fund donated a sum of TZS 100,000,000 to ensure that every child in Tanzania with cancer has the opportunity for survival.
The Mo Dewji Foundation Trust Fund is proud of its decade long partnership with Tumaini la Maisha. When Tumaini la Maisha began in 2011, 10 children a day developed cancer, and 9 out of 10 lost their lives. Fast forward to today, survival rates have increased to over 60%. There has also been a 600% increase in the number of children receiving treatment.
