Petro Group shines at the 18th President’s Manufacturer of the Year Awards (PMAYA)

Petro Group has marked a major achievement by securing three pres-tigious awards at the 18th President’s Manufacturer of the Year Awards (PMAYA), held on November 8, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

These accolades recognise Petro Group’s unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainabil¬ity across its business divisions: Pet-rofuel, Petro Logistics, and Petropak. The honours are a testament to the company’s significant contributions to Tanzania’s industrial and econom¬ic growth.

Petrofuel’s Success in Petrole­um Distribution

Petrofuel (T) Limited, Petro Group’s flagship subsidiary, earned the top spot in the “Distribution of Petroleum Products (Large Scale)” category. This prestigious award highlights Petrofuel’s dedication to providing high-quality fuel solutions throughout Tanzania, prioritising accessibility, efficiency, and safety in every aspect of its operations.

With an extensive distribution network, cutting-edge technolo­gy, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, Petrofuel has become a leader in the petroleum distribu­tion sector. The company’s ability to innovate and adapt has been cru­cial in maintaining its reputation as a reliable and trusted fuel supplier across the region.

Petro Logistics leads the way in logistics and transport

Another standout division, Pet­ro Logistics Limited, was awarded Winner in the “Logistics, Transport, and Storage (Large Scale)” category. Petro Logistics has revolutionised the logistics and transportation land­scape in Tanzania with its efficient, innovative, and secure solutions.

The company has made significant investments in its infrastructure, including a modern fleet of trucks equipped with the latest technology, ensuring safe and timely deliveries. Petro Logistics’ focus on workforce training and development has also been key to delivering services with precision and professionalism.

Petropak’s recognition in metal manufacturing

Petropak Limited, Petro Group’s division specialising in metal prod­ucts for the lubricant sector, was named 1st Runner-Up in the “Metal and Metal Products (Medium Scale)” category. In a very short span, Pet­ropak has built a strong reputation for manufacturing durable, high-quality metal products that meet both local and international standards.

Through its advanced manufactur­ing processes, commitment to sus­tainability, and use of cutting-edge technology, Petropak has established itself as a leader in the sector, provid­ing essential products for industries such as construction, manufactur­ing, and industrial operations.

At the awards ceremony, Mr. Adithya Satish Kumar, Executive Director of Petro Group, expressed his gratitude and shared the com­pany’s vision for the future. “We are deeply honoured by these recogni­tions. Mr. Kumar also took the opportu­nity to thank H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her instrumen­tal role in fostering a favourable business climate in Tanzania. He acknowledged the President’s efforts in improving regulatory frameworks and economic policies, which have created the conditions for busi­nesses like Petro Group to thrive. Mr. Kumar emphasised that Petro Group’s expansion plans are closely aligned with the President’s vision for a prosperous and industrialised Tanzania.

He also expressed gratitude to the organisers, the Confederation of Tan­zania Industries (CTI), for their con­tinuous support in promoting both established and emerging business­es across the country. Additionally, he noted that receiving the PMAYA award, along with the recent recog­nition as a SUPERBRAND™, under­scores the group’s unwavering com­mitment to delivering high-quality products and services.

Exciting growth plans for 2025

Looking ahead to 2025, Petro Group is set for significant growth across its divisions:

Petrofuel’s retail expansion: Petrofuel plans to open 20 new retail filling stations next year, further enhancing its presence in the Tan­zanian fuel market. This expansion, building on Petrofuel’s 18 years of experience in the country, will offer greater convenience and accessibili­ty for consumers while contributing to Tanzania’s economic develop­ment.

Petro Logistics’ infrastruc­ture investments:Petro Logistics is investing in expanding its fleet and building modern logistics hubs across key locations in Tanzania. These projects, set to be completed in 2025, will help meet the increasing demand for efficient, secure logistics services in the country.

Petropak’s strategic collabora­tions:Petropak is in discussions with leading European and Indian compa­nies to diversify and expand its range of packaging products. These part­nerships will bring advanced pack­aging solutions to Tanzania, meeting the growing needs of the manufac­turing and industrial sectors.
