Unguja. Zanzibar’s House of Representatives legislator (Mtambwe-ACT Wazalendo), Habib Ali Muhamed, has passed away today, March 3, 2023, while undergoing treatment at Saifee Hospital in Dar es Salaam.
Zanzibar House of Representatives Speaker Zubeir Ali Maulid confirmed the death of a legislator.
Also, ACT-Wazalendo party which he was a member, has confirmed his death, saying more details about the funeral arrangements will be issued after consulting with the family.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
On the other hand, Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi has sent condolences to the family following the death of Mr Muhamed.
"It is with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of the Mtambwe representative, Habib Ali Muhamed, on March 3, 2023. I pray for the family of the deceased to be patient during this difficult period of tragedy.
"We all belong to Almighty God, and to Him we shall return," the president wrote on his Twitter handle.
