Thousands turn up for Mwinyi's reception

CCM members in Zanzibar as they wait to receive Dr Hussein Mwinyi

Unguja. Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’s newly-elected National Vice-Chairperson, President Dr Hussein Mwinyi, has today received a grand reception from party’s members in Zanzibar.

Dr Mwinyi arrived at the Aman Abeid Karume International Airport (AAKIA) from Dodoma where he and other leaders were elected during the CCM’s 10th National Congress which ended on Thursday last week.

CCM, in Zanzibar, prepared ‘big welcoming’ event for Dr Mwinyi as new Vice-Chairperson for the party in the Isles following party’s election held in Dodoma.

The party’s leaders and thousands members of CCM were seen along the streets, airport and at the CCM Kisiwandui offices.

Upon his arrival, Dr Mwinyi was officially received by the party’s deputy secretary general (Zanzibar), Dr Abdalla Juma Mabodi at the airport.

Then his convoy headed to CCM Kisiwandui offices passing through various streets in Zanzibar where thousands of members and supporters were waiting to meet him.

At the Kisiwandui offices, Dr Mwinyi will be received by the party’s elders, according to CCM’s Publicity and Ideology Secretary in Zanzibar, Ms Catherine Peter Nao,

‘After reception he will visit the grave of Zanzibar’s first president the late Aman Abeid Karume and then sign visitors book at the office and have conversation with party leaders,” she said.
