Unguja. Zanzibar has recorded its highest-ever number of visitor arrivals for the month of July, welcoming 107,801 tourists in July 2026, according to the latest statistics released by the Office of the Chief Government Statistician.
The new record represents a 9.6 percent increase from 98,370 visitors recorded in July 2025 and a remarkable 54.9 percent rise compared with 69,605 visitors in June 2026.
Commenting on the milestone, Executive Secretary of the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT), Arif Abbas Manji, described the figures as an important achievement for the destination.
“For the first time in Zanzibar’s tourism history, we have received more than 107,000 visitors in the month of July. This is a significant milestone and a strong indication of the growing international confidence and demand for Zanzibar as a destination,”
