Investment firm, Bolt Tanzania in partnership to digitise carpet retail

Dar es Salaam. Hope Holdings, a local investment company, has announced a partnership with ride-hailing firm Bolt Tanzania, to digitise the operations of its carpet retail subsidiary called Amal Carpets.

Speaking at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, representatives of both companies said the partnership was designed to make quality carpets more affordable and accessible to Tanzanian households.

The initiative forms part of Hope Holdings’ “road to market” strategy, which seeks to address what the firm describes as distorted brand perceptions created by third-party retailers who sell the products at unregulated mark-ups.

“We want to eliminate the notion that Amal Carpets are too expensive and not for the masses,” said marketing manager at Hope Holdings, Mr Micky Decha.

“By adopting a digital solution to reach our customers and make sales, more Tanzanians will be able to access essential quality products at controlled and affordable prices,” he said.

Through integration with Bolt Business delivery services, Amal Carpets customers will now be able to order directly and have products delivered to their doorsteps, reducing delays and bypassing the costs associated with traditional showrooms and intermediaries.

“This collaboration is about rethinking how Tanzanian businesses can digitise operations to better serve our predominantly low-income communities,” said senior country manager for Bolt Business, Mr Milu Kipimo.
