NMB sets aside Sh1bn for CSR

Kiomboi. National Microfinance Bank (NMB) is planning to spend over Sh1 billion for corporate social responsibility initiatives in 2016, the bank has announced.
The money will be used to help education and health sectors, among others in the country, according to the bank’s central zone manager Mr Straton Chilongola.
Mr Chilongola was speaking when the bank handed over 730 desks worth Sh73 million to 15 schools in Kiomboi District, Singida Region at the weekend.
The bank also donated health facilities including beds and mattresses worth Sh25 million to Singida Regional Hospital to help reducing shortage of the equipment at the medical centre.
“The Sh1 billion we set aside for community development this year puts us number one bank in the country and we hope we will bring impact to our health and education sectors, among others,” said Mr Chilongola.
The bank focuses its community projects to supporting education and health sectors and donate to victims of different disasters, he said.
