Stanbic Bank Tanzania wraps up campaign with Sh7.5m in prizes

Dar es Salaam. Stanbic Bank Tanzania, in collaboration with Visa, has concluded its Tap Kibingwa Campaign, a three-month initiative aimed at encouraging the use of digital payments through Stanbic Visa debit cards.

The final monthly draw, held in Dar es Salaam, awarded Sh500,000 each to five customers—Coles Josette, Irene Charles Isaka, Chisora Kennedy, Abubakar Said Salim Bakhresa, and Pietro Stella. This brought the total payout to Sh7.5 million across 15 winners selected in February, March, and April.

The bank also announced that the campaign’s grand prize winner, who will receive a new Suzuki Fronx, will be revealed in the coming days. The draw is open to customers who consistently used their cards for transactions worth Sh5 million or more per month.

“The campaign promoted the shift to digital banking,” said Irene Mutahibirwa, Card Issuing Manager at Stanbic Bank Tanzania. “We have rewarded customers while supporting the transition to safer and more convenient transactions.”

Launched in early 2025, Tap Kibingwa aimed to increase adoption of card payments. Customers who transacted at least Sh2 million monthly qualified for cash draws, while higher spenders earned a chance at the grand prize.

The campaign also promoted financial awareness and reinforced the bank’s role in advancing digital banking in Tanzania.
