Mbeya. Stanbic Bank Tanzania has re-launched its revamped branch in Mbeya as it undertakes a comprehensive modernisation programme.

The bank, a subsidiary of South Africa’s Standard Bank Group, is undergoing a branch and service modernization programme that seeks to give its customers a new banking experience during the coming few months, according to chief executive officer, Ken Cockerill.

“This revamp is part of our broader efforts to modernise our branch network across the country coupled with offering superior services to our customers,” Mr Cockerill said in a statement yesterday.

Stanbic Bank has a total of 10 branches and 34 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in the country.

It also offers mobile and internet banking services. The modernization programme goes hand in hand with replacing its ATMs with the latest version of touch-screen ATMs.

“So far, five new touch-screen ATMs have been installed in Dar es Salaam and the next batch will go to Arusha and Mwanza, after which they will be rolled out to other regions….we intend to renovate the branches and also constantly improve the way we do business in order to make banking with us easier,” he said. Stanbic Bank opened its doors in Mbeya back in 2000 and currently has about 5,000 clients.
