Celebrating the global Champagne Day with Dar’s glitterati

It is always glamour when the best meets the best and on this day industry A list graced the Tanzania’s Moët & Chandon Global Champagne Day 2021.

The celebrations of its kind which culminated in a grand toast at the Coral Beach Hotel, Dar es Salaam was a beautiful moment to relish.

In a collective moment, guests across 10 cities raised their glasses to join a Grand ‘Toast to Today’, which took place at 17:43 in homage to the year the iconic Maison was founded.

The toast was crafted by Siphokazi Jonas, one of Africa’s leading artists of the spoken word and served to set a suitably celebratory tone.

Her words honoured the spirit of celebration, of being united and a zest for life.

She spoke of how shared joy can connect across nations and cultures and reminded guests of the importance of celebrating each day.

Speaking to The Beat, Managing Director of Moët Hennessy Africa and Middle East, Dominic Ryan said that champagne is the world’s most loved drink for a good reason - with the power to unite people globally in celebration.

“ International Champagne Day provides the perfect opportunity for Moët &Chandon to take its place as the custodian of the moment the world has chosen to celebrate the champagne region – for it is from Epernay, in the heart of the region, that Moët & Chandon originates,” he said.

He added: Each vintage reflects the diversity and complementarity of the three main grape varieties of the champagne region, the body of Pinot Noir, the suppleness of Meunier, and the finesse of Chardonnay.

In each country where the celebration took place, some Icons of success and elegance were invited, in Tanzania the renowned film producer and award winner Seko Shamte, Award winner fashion designer Kiki Zimba of Kiki Fashions, Pedaiah Swank John with his savvy label (PSJ Brand) and SDG champion Rio Paul who is a fashion trailblazer.

Other high profiles high profile invitees included Jihan Dimack , Brigitte Alfred former Miss Tanzania , EFM Radio personality B-Dozen who wowed the audience with sense of fashion and beauty .

Speaking about the event, Kiki said it was great to be recognized and celebrated by Moët & Chandon and to be part of a such an occasion.

“It brought joy to interact with the invited guests from different industries and to share grateful moments through the envelop wall,”

Pedaiah Swank John said, “I feel honored to be amongst power houses individuals and to  “Toast to Today” in sync with other countries it made this event special and memorable, it indeed reminded us to reflect and be thankful of the year that 2021 has been and to look forward to the coming years “

Ryan on the other hand said events of the recent past have highlighted the importance of acknowledging daily triumphs, meaningful moments, successes, friends – as many times as possible.
