Angel Mary Kato

What you need to know:

It is all about discipline, hard work and focus. It is true women have lots of challenges but as long as you have the qualities above then you will make it.

She was a sensation at the just ended Bongo Star Search talent show whose efforts afforded her a second runner-up position. The 22-year-old LGTI student from Mwanza has already attracted suitors who are ready to give gigs starting  next week

How did you develop interest in joining BSS?

I had always wanted to go for the auditions but each time the judges came to our town, I was either busy in school or something comes up and I can’t go for the auditions. This time I got myself ready.

What do you think it takes for women to succeed?

It is all about discipline, hard work and focus. It is true women have lots of challenges but as long as you have the qualities above then you will make it.

What do you promise your fans?

There are great things on the way. There is a day as a hip hop artiste when I shall bring respect to this country.

If you had a chance what would you change about the industry?

I would love to change the way people look at female artistes who do hip hop. I want my music to be an instrument of change and inspiration to people as we seek to change our society. I mean something like what Kala Jeremiah is doing.
