2025 Election: INEC seeks temporary staff

Dar es Salaam. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced temporary job vacancies for the upcoming 2025 General Election, calling on eligible Tanzanians to apply for positions at polling stations.
In a notice issued on June 28, 2025, INEC’s Director of Elections, Mr Ramadhani Kailima, said the deadline for applications is July 11, 2025.
The recruitment is being conducted in line with Section 6(6) of the Presidential, Parliamentary and Councillors Elections Act No. 1 of 2024, and Regulation 10(1) of the 2025 Election Regulations.
Positions advertised include polling station supervisors, assistant supervisors, and voter guiding clerks. All posts are temporary and will be held during the election period.
Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 or above and must not be political party leaders. They should have at least a Form Four education, be able to read and write in Kiswahili or English, and reside in the ward in which they are applying to work.
Applicants for the clerk position must be of sound mind, obedient, and trustworthy.
The remuneration structure includes Sh70,000 per day for supervisors (two days), Sh65,000 per day for assistant supervisors (two days), and Sh65,000 for clerks (one day). All roles include meal allowances of Sh20,000 and transport stipends of Sh20,000. Participants in training sessions will receive Sh50,000 per day and Sh20,000 for transport.
Applicants are required to submit copies of their secondary and, where available, professional certificates, a CV with a residential address and contact details, Nida numbers and names of two guarantors, and two recent passport-size photos.
A letter of introduction from a local government officer is also required. Public servants must route their applications through their employers.
Application letters must be addressed to the Director of Elections, Independent National Electoral Commission, and submitted to the assistant returning officer at ward level, who will forward them to the respective constituency returning officer.
Applicants must write the position they are applying for on the back of the envelope.
INEC warned that those who submit false information or forged documents will face legal consequences.
