Moshi. Ada Tadea, presidential candidate Georges Busungu has pledged that if elected, he will build a dedicated technology city to bring together innovators and skilled youth on projects that benefit the nation.
Addressing the rally at Manyema Grounds in Moshi Urban, Kilimanjaro, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, Mr Busungu called on residents to support him in implementing major development reforms.
"Give us the opportunity, Ada Tadea, and one of our priorities will be to advance technology by establishing a professional technology city, bringing together innovators and skilled youth to engage in creative work for the nation’s benefit," he said.
He added that, alongside technology, the party will improve coffee farming and other crops, including providing reliable markets to boost farmers’ incomes.
Furthermore, he said the party’s government would implement fair taxation, stressing that small businesses would not be taxed before generating profit.
"Taxes will be levied only after earnings. Anyone who has not earned will not be taxed. We aim to lay the foundation for citizens to prosper," he said.
Other pledges include improving sanitation, the environment, and marketplaces to provide better conditions for traders.
"We will also strengthen security agencies, ensuring they are equipped with modern tools, including a dedicated police helicopter to enhance patrols and respond promptly to incidents," he said, adding that his government will provide free education from pre-school to university.
According to him, the Ada Tadea government will be accountable, regardless of party or ideology.
The party’s running mate, Mr Ally Makame Issa, pledged to address environmental concerns, particularly around Mount Kilimanjaro, to protect the mountain, a major tourist attraction.
"Give us the opportunity, Ada Tadea. We will improve road and drainage infrastructure, especially in Moshi, and provide subsidies to farmers living around Mount Kilimanjaro to safeguard the mountain’s environment," he said.
He also urged Tanzanians to vote in large numbers on October 29, 2025, highlighting the importance of peace.
"It is time to make the right decision. Let us vote peacefully because our nation’s peace is the most valuable asset," he said.
Meanwhile, Ada Tadea, Secretary-General, Mr Salehe Msumari said the party plans to revive defunct industries, particularly in Kilimanjaro, which he claims have been converted into warehouses for imported goods, contributing to economic stagnation in Moshi.
