A-List stars Kajala Masanja, Irene Uwoya, Aunty Ezekiel and Jacqueline Wolper say they welcomed their meeting with the Tanzania Film Board, describing it as an opportunity for guidance.
“They spoke to us well. They did not speak harshly to us; they educated us on where we went wrong,” Uwoya said after the meeting.
The four actresses reported to the Board’s offices on Monday, September 7, 2026, following a notice directing them to appear at 2pm.
They arrived in a luxury Hummer and hit the red carpet before walking into the Board’s offices, bringing their signature celebrity flair to the formal engagement.
Tanzania Film Board Executive Secretary, Dr Gervas Kasiga, urged the veteran actresses to demonstrate professionalism and recognise their responsibility as experienced figures in the film industry.
Kasiga said they were called to receive a warning and be reminded of their duties, particularly through their DStv reality show, A-List.
He said some scenes in the programme raised concerns over content and morality, stressing that veteran artistes have a responsibility to set a positive example.
