Britam launches new medical health covers

Farai Dogo, CEO of Britam Insurance Tanzania, and George Mwita, Medical Business Manager, announced the launch of two new medical insurance covers: ‘Afya Care’ and ‘Amani Health’. These plans are designed to provide comprehensive and affordable health coverage for individuals, families, and businesses.

Dar es Salaam. In support of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s initiative to ensure universal health insurance for Tanzanians, Britam Insurance Tanzania has announced the launch of two new medical insurance covers: ‘Afya Care’ and ‘Amani Health’. These new products are designed to offer comprehensive and affordable health coverage for individuals, families, and businesses.

Afya Care provides a comprehensive health cover solution tailored to meet the diverse needs of its customers. Available to individuals and families, this cover aims to offer reliable healthcare at affordable rates. Whether you are a young professional, a growing family, or a retiree, Afya Care is designed to support you in living a healthier and happier life.

At a press conference, Farai Dogo, CEO of Britam Insurance Tanzania, stated, “We are excited to introduce Afya Care, which reflects our commitment to delivering quality health insurance solutions. Our goal is to offer peace of mind through access to excellent healthcare services, enhancing our clients’ overall well-being.”

Amani Health is aimed at Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and organized groups, providing an affordable health insurance solution with comprehensive benefits. This cover caters to a minimum of five employees or principal members plus their nuclear family dependents.

George Mwita, Medical Business Manager at Britam Insurance Tanzania, added, “Amani Health is specifically designed to meet the needs of MSMEs and organized groups, ensuring they access quality healthcare services. This initiative supports the growth and development of small businesses in Tanzania.”

Both Afya Care and Amani Health offer inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) coverage within Britam’s network of medical care providers. Benefits are available at various levels, with options ranging from three tiers – POA, IMARA, and SUPER – starting from as low as Sh370,000. Additional benefits include dental, maternity, optical, last expense, and repatriation of remains.

Britam Insurance also provides international and referral services within East Africa and India, with roaming services available in all countries where Britam operates, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Mozambique, and South Sudan.
