Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has warned that a total of six regions are set to experience heavy rains for the next two days, affecting marine and economic activities in the country.

According to the statement, the regions include Arusha, Mwanza, Simiyu, Mwanza, Kagera, and Geita regions.

The authority mentioned the regions to be affected as the coastal areas of Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Lindi, Mtwara, and Coast region, as well as some Pemba and Unguja.

The TMA weather forecast further stressed that the ongoing rains are expected to affect some marine activities, cause localised floods, and disrupt some economic activities.

The advisory went on to alert residents from five regions on the mainland and other parts of the Isles to get ready for strong winds reaching 40km per hour.

During the period, the report says, the state of the sea is expected to be rough, whereas cloudy conditions, thundershowers over some areas, and sunny intervals will be experienced in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Manyara regions.
