Dar es Salaam. The highly anticipated Bata la Disemba carnival, held from December 6–8, 2024, at the Leaders Club Grounds, has successfully concluded with an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and community.
The event organised by Heineken Beverages International in partnership with the city of Dar es Salaam brought together over 5,000 attendees for three days of electrifying entertainment, local cuisine, sports viewing, and an incredible lineup of live performances.

The event was a testament to Dar es Salaam’s growing reputation as a cultural and tourism hub while celebrating the spirit of unity and joy that defines our community.”
The carnival featured performances by some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Zuchu, Master KG, Chino Kidd, Linah Sanga, Johmakini, G Nako, and many more. Attendees were treated to an exciting mix of music, games, comedy, and live sports viewing that kept the atmosphere electric throughout the weekend.
Heineken Beverages International manager in Tanzania Obabiyi Fagade said the success of Bata la Disemba is a true reflection of the values we stand for at Heineken – bringing people together in celebration, creating joy, and contributing to the economic vibrancy of the local community.
“This event not only provided a platform for world-class entertainment but also supported local businesses and entrepreneurs, contributing to the continued growth of Tanzania’s economy.”
Throughout the carnival, Heineken demonstrated its commitment to fostering a sense of community and togetherness. The event was not only an opportunity for Tanzanians and international visitors to connect, but also served as a showcase for the region’s rising potential as a key player in East Africa’s economic landscape.
In addition to the entertainment, the carnival provided a boost to local vendors, highlighting Dar es Salaam’s diverse culinary offerings and giving local entrepreneurs a chance to engage with thousands of potential customers. This aligns with Heineken's broader goal of supporting the local economy and creating opportunities for growth.
The three-day event culminated with a fireworks show to celebrate Tanzania’s 63rd independence celebration. And as the event wrapped up, attendees expressed their excitement and appreciation for the vibrant atmosphere and seamless execution. Many hailed it as the biggest and most memorable event of the year, with the carnival’s blend of entertainment, culture, and community spirit leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
