Dar es Salaam. The High Court of Tanzania has honoured the Executive Director of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for East Africa, Ms Caroline Khamati Mugalla, for her contribution to strengthening labour relations in the country.

Chief Justice George Masaju presented the recognition on Monday, August 25, 2025, during the opening of the Ninth Tripartite Users Committee meeting in Dar es Salaam.

The Court said Ms Mugalla had played a pivotal role in promoting productive collaboration between the judiciary and the ILO, particularly in training and dialogue on labour dispute resolution.

“Her commitment to sustaining cooperation and constructive dialogue has been vital in achieving shared objectives on labour rights. We value her active participation in labour dispute forums and her efforts in facilitating both national and international training for judicial officers,” the Court noted.

The recognition, according to the judiciary, reflects appreciation of Ms Mugalla’s efforts in advancing labour justice and strengthening institutional partnerships in Tanzania.
