Infinity provides 6,500 meals for Zanzibar's Stone Town mosques during Ramadhan

Unguja. Infinity Developments, through Infinity Foundation has recently launched an initiative aimed at giving back to the community during the holy month of Ramadhan.

In a move that highlights the company’s commitment to social good, Infinity has already donated 6,500 meals to worshippers in mosques across Zanzibar’s historic Stone Town.

"This is a very important time of year, and we encourage all other people who are able to help others to do so in their local communities. Together we can all make a big difference" said Mr Samuel Saba, the company’s chairman

Enhancing community spirit

According to Mr Saba, the initiative comes at a crucial time, as Ramadhan is a month of fasting, reflection, and charity for Muslims around the world.

During this time, fasting from dawn until sunset is a spiritual practice that also brings attention to the plight of the less fortunate. In Zanzibar, many individuals face economic challenges, and providing meals during this period offers relief to those who may struggle to afford an iftar meal at the end of their daily fast.

Infinity has chosen to focus its efforts on local mosques, which serve as community hubs for both prayer and social interaction.

"By distributing meals at these mosques, the company ensures that we reach those who are most in need—whether they are elderly residents, local workers, or families facing financial hardship. The meals are distributed after sunset, allowing individuals to break their fast together in the spirit of unity and community."

A symbol of corporate responsibility

Infinity’s decision to embark on this initiative reflects its broader commitment to corporate responsibility. While property development is often seen as a business-driven endeavor, Infinity’s leadership recognises the importance of contributing positively to society. This approach aligns with the growing global trend of businesses adopting CSR practices that go beyond profit-making and instead focus on enhancing the well-being of the communities they serve.

One of the elders at a mosque close to Forodhani said that by supporting local mosques in Zanzibar’s Stone Town, Infinity is not just offering a meal—it is helping to foster a sense of solidarity and compassion among the residents of Zanzibar, regardless of their social or economic status.

In addition to the immediate benefits of providing food, Infinity’s initiative serves to strengthen its relationship with the local community, the elder said.

Moreover, this initiative serves as a reminder to other businesses in Zanzibar and beyond that giving back is an integral part of doing business.

Infinity Developments decision to offer 6,500 meals to mosques in Stone Town during Ramadan is a powerful example of how businesses can contribute to the social fabric of the communities in which they operate.

This initiative not only addresses immediate needs but also strengthens ties between the company and the local population, creating a legacy of corporate responsibility and community support.
