Lowassa: President Magufuli persuaded me to return to CCM

Former Prime Minster Edward Lowassa has revealed that President John Magufuli persuaded him to return to the ruling CCM from Chadema.

Mr Lowassa, who recently rejoined CCM, a party which he ditched shorty before the 2015 general election after being defeated by President John Magufuli in CCM primaries.

He made the revelations when addressing hundreds of CCM supporters in Monduli on Saturday, March 9.

Lowassa returned to the ruling party on March 1. He was received by President Magufuli, who is also CCM chairman and the party’s secretary Dr Bashiru Ally.
