Mabeyo sworn in as Chief of Defence Forces

Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli has sworn in General Venance Mabeyo as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) at the State House in Dar es Salaam today.

General Mabeyo was appointed last week to replace General Davis Mwamunyange who has retired.

Prior to the appointment, Mabeyo was Tanzania Peoples Defence Forces (TPDF)’s Chief of Staff before being promoted to full General.

Meanwhile, President Magufuli swore in Lieutenant  General James Mwakibolwa as  the new Chief of Staff, assuming the role vacated by General Mabeyo.

Mwakibolwa was  promoted last week to the rank of Lieutenant General.
