Kigoma. ACT-Wazalendo’s National Youth Front (Ngome ya Vijana) chairperson, Mr Abdul Nondo, has collected his nomination form to seek the party’s endorsement as a parliamentary candidate for Kigoma Urban Constituency in the upcoming General Election.

He collected the form on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from the party’s Kigoma Urban Constituency Secretary, Mr Idd Adamu.

This marks his second bid for the Kigoma Urban parliamentary seat, where, as in the 2020 General Election, he will again face the former constituency’s MP, Mr Zitto Kabwe, who collected his nomination form earlier on April 18, 2025.

After receiving the form, Mr Nondo said: “I believe this time the delegates and the party will grant me the mandate to fly the party flag in this constituency, aiming to restore the dignity of Kigoma Urban.”

“This constituency is not a place to seek fame or popularity; the people of Kigoma are well informed and know who is fit to lead them,” stressed Mr Nondo.

Mr Nondo is a prominent youth leader within ACT-Wazalendo, heading its youth wing.

He has earned recognition for leading youth campaigns and advocating for a strong constitution and democracy in Tanzania.

In the party primaries, Mr Nondo is challenging Mr Kabwe, a veteran ACT-Wazalendo figure and former Kigoma North legislator (2005–2015).

During his parliamentary tenure, Zitto chaired the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), focusing on fighting corruption and improving accountability in public finances.

Zitto founded ACT-Wazalendo in 2015 after leaving Chadema and led the party until March 2024, with a strong emphasis on democracy, transparency, and good governance.
