Police bans UVCCM planned demos

Dar es Salaam. Police has banned Chama cha Mapinduzi youth wing (UVCCM) from holding parade in support of government’s port deal agreement with DP World.

In a statement signed by police spokesperson, David Misime to the public states the law directs what processes should be followed by anyone who wants to hold such demonstrations.

“In addition with the legal procedure, calling for protests countrywide could cause disorder and fear to Tanzanians without any reason because there are platforms to present anything that is in the legal procedure without calling for such demos " the statement reads in part.

It adds: On that manner, the Police force prohibits the demonstrations and this includes other people who have similar intentions and instead they should presents their arguments through press conferences.
