This was confirmed by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa after he arrived at the scene of the accident in Bukoba on Sunday afternoon.

Following his arrival at the crash site, the Prime Minister said an investigation has been ordered.

The investigation will come to the bottom of the discrepancy in number of those on board, with earlier figures communicated by the airline and Ministry of Home Affairs putting the figure at 43, however, as it stands, the numbers stands at 45.

It is not know whether the two were on board the plane or were part of the rescue team.
