Samia appoints four Court of Appeal judges, new ambassador to Brazil and board chairs

Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made several key appointments, including four new Justices to the Court of Appeal, the assignment of an ambassador to Brazil, and the selection of two board chairs.

In a statement issued on Friday, 10 January 2025, by the Presidential Directorate says information shared by Chief Secretary Dr Moses Kusiluka, the President's office announced the appointment of four new Court of Appeal Justices.

Among the appointees is Latifa Mansoor, who previously held the role of judge-in-charge at the Morogoro Integrated Centre.

The other new Justices include George Masaju, who served as a High Court Judge and the President's Legal Advisor before his promotion, and Justice Dr Deo Nangela, who was the High Court Judge-in-charge for the Sumbawanga zone.

Additionally, Justice Dr Ubena Agatho, a former High Court Judge at the Commercial Division in Dar es Salaam, has also been appointed to the Court of Appeal.

The statement also disclosed the appointment of Ambassador Dr Stephen Simbachawene, who has been assigned to represent Tanzania in Brazil, succeeding Ambassador Prof Aderladus Kilangi.

Prof Kilangi will be assigned other responsibilities.

Furthermore, Mr Uledi Mussa has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Board for a second consecutive term.

Additionally, Prof Zacharia Mganilwa has been named Chairman of the Board of the College of Business Education (CBE), taking over from Prof Wineaster Anderson, whose term has now ended.
