Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced the formation of two commissions to address challenges in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The first commission will investigate and recommend solutions to land disputes raised by residents, while the second will oversee the implementation of the voluntary relocation exercise from the area.

Speaking at the state lodge in Arusha on Sunday, President Samia addressed Maasai traditional and community leaders (Malaigwanani) from Ngorongoro.

The meeting sought to hear their concerns regarding government decisions affecting their communities.

The President reassured the leaders of the government’s commitment to strengthening the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) to improve the relationship between the government and the local community.

She also emphasized the importance of involving citizens in the planning and execution of projects in their regions.

“Tanzania is a nation built on unity and inclusivity, and our government serves all Tanzanians,” she said, while urging the President's Office (Regional Administration and Local Government) to address the lack of basic social services in the area.
