Six injured in Tarime political skirmish

These are not the first attacks in Tarime as other have been killed and injured in political skirmishes

Tarime. Six people have been injured including a journalists working for Sahara Media Group, George Nteminyanda after violence between two groups erupted in Tarime yesterday.
Speaking at Tarime District Hospital, where they are admitted, some of those who were injured said the violence erupted after two groups- supporting rival parties in the election-were involved in a bitter argument about who will win tomorrow election between Dr John Magufuli and Mr Edward Lowassa.
The ordeal Mr Nteminyanda said he was caught in the violence as he was heading to see CCM parliamentary candidate for Tarime constituency.
“A group of youths prevented me from entering the hotel where CCM was holding a meeting; as they were speaking another group invade and the violence erupted,” said Mr Nteminyanda.
According to Mr Nteminyanda some of the youths beat him until he lost consciousness.
According to Tarime district hospital nurse in charge Ms Rose Hosea the victims’ condition was improving. Tarime District Commissioner Mr Glorius Luoga, who visited the victims, confirmed the incident.
“The situation is getting worse in the district; the number of violent incidents has been increasing lately,” said Mr Hosea.
