Tanzania’s former PM Malecela urges ruling party members to uphold patriotism

Dar es Salaam. Former Vice President and Prime Minister, John Malecela, has called on members of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) to remain patriotic and committed to the nation’s welfare.
Speaking on Thursday December 5, 2024, after hosting CCM Secretary-General, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, at his home in Upanga, Dar es Salaam, Malecela praised the party's strong leadership under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Malecela, a former CCM Vice Chairman (Mainland), lauded the implementation of the party's 2020 Election Manifesto, describing it as a testament to the party’s genuine dedication to serving Tanzanians.
He highlighted key achievements under President Samia's leadership in infrastructure development, healthcare, and education, urging CCM members to use these successes as motivation to strengthen unity and enhance the party's leadership.

Malecela encouraged CCM members to uphold party ethics and solidarity, describing these principles as pillars of CCM’s success over its 60-year history.
He urged current CCM leaders to build on the good work being done while maintaining principles of justice, transparency, and accountability.
According to him, these values have been instrumental in maintaining public trust in CCM.
“This is the time to work even harder to enhance our country's development while respecting the party’s core mission of serving the people,” Malecela concluded.
