According to a statement, the event, coordinated by the London Institute of Skills Development (LISD) and sponsored by The Oxford Club, UK, cast a global spotlight on excellence in education, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
More than just a celebration of achievement, this year’s ceremony was a powerful call to action.
It urged the world to recognise that true leadership transcends borders, industries, and disciplines.
Held in collaboration with the Harvard Club of Boston, the event underscored Harvard’s enduring role as a crucible of global thought and collaboration, setting the stage for a night that emphasised the importance of excellence across all spheres of influence.
Among the honorees, founder of BSM Washauri (TZ) Ltd, Mr Bakari Steven Machumu, stood out for his groundbreaking work in media leadership.
“He is recognised previously as one of 100 Tanzanian Changemakers; Machumu was celebrated for his bold reinvention of a struggling media house, transforming it into a thriving digital-era success story,” read part of the statement.
His award in Media Leadership and Innovation highlighted the profound impact of adapting traditional industries to meet the challenges of the modern world.
Group CEO of Azania Group, Fuad Ahmed Edha, was honoured for his exceptional work in entrepreneurship and corporate governance.
“Through his leadership, Edha has successfully modernised business practices and spearheaded community development initiatives across six countries,” read part of the statement.
His recognition in entrepreneurship underscored the power of socially responsible business practices in fostering both economic growth and social good.
A telecommunications powerhouse at Airtel Africa, Hilda Joseph Nakajumo earned accolades for her outstanding contributions to product innovation and leadership across 14 African countries. Recognised as one of Africa’s Top 50 Women in Management, her award in Emerging Women Leadership reflected the evening’s central theme: when women are empowered, entire nations thrive.
CEO of Mokasi Medical Systems and founder of Labtech Tanzania Ltd Monica Joseph, was honoured in Business Women Leadership.
Her unwavering commitment to financial inclusion and gender equity, both in boardrooms and community boards, showcased the immense value of diverse leadership in driving social change.
Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience and determination in breaking barriers for women in business.
According to a statement, one speaker said that excellence is not inherited; it is chosen, nurtured, and shared.
