Teacher recruitment in nine days adds 189 to the ranks

Dar es Salaam. The government has recently recruited 189 new teachers following interviews, including candidates from its existing database.
This latest hiring comes just nine days after the recruitment of 319 teachers, benefiting seven councils from the previous intake.
On Friday, March 21, 2025, the Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat announced: "I would like to inform job applicants who attended interviews between January 5 and February 24, 2025, that the results of the successful candidates are included in this announcement."
The statement further clarified that some successful candidates were selected from the database and have now been assigned workstations as vacancies arose.
"Successful candidates must collect their job placement letters from the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat offices at the University of Dodoma (Udom), Dr Asha-Rose Migiro Buildings, within seven days following this announcement," the statement advised, adding that uncollected letters will be sent via postal addresses.
In this recruitment phase, five councils will receive the newly appointed teachers, including Shinyanga Municipality, Rorya District, Kahama Municipality, Nyang’hwale District, and Bukombe District.
