Want to join the Tanzania Police Force: Here are recently announced job vacancies

Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Police Force has announced job vacancies for Tanzanian youth with various educational backgrounds, including degrees, diplomas, certificates, and secondary school qualifications (Form Four and Form Six).
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camilius Wambura announced on March 20, 2025, outlining key eligibility criteria.
Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens by birth, with both parents also Tanzanian, and must have completed secondary education between 2019 and 2024.
Eligibility criteria
The announcement says applicants with Form Four, Form Six, or certificate qualifications must be 18 to 25 years old, while diploma and degree holders must be 18 to 30 years old.
“Form Four applicants must have grades between the first and fourth divisions. Those in the fourth division must have a score between 26 and 28,” according to the announcement.
Furthermore, the announcement says Form Six applicants must have grades between the First and Third divisions.
According to the announcement, men must have a minimum height of 5’8” (173 cm), while women should be 5’4” (163 cm) tall.
Other requirements:
Applicants must possess a National Identification card (NIDA) or NIDA number, be physically and mentally fit as certified by a government doctor, and be proficient in Kiswahili and English.
“Married individuals, parents, drug users, or those with tattoos or a criminal record are ineligible,” according to the announcement.
“They must be willing to undergo police training and serve anywhere in Tanzania. Also, they must not be employed or have previously worked in any government institution,” reads another part.
According to the document, applicants must cover their expenses during recruitment.

Relevant fields of study
Mainland Tanzania
Degree holders eligible to apply for the job should have studied several fields including anesthesia, animal science, architecture, civil engineering, computer science, cyber security, journalism, law, medical sciences, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, telecommunications, and veterinary medicine, among others.
Their diploma counterparts should hold expertise in animal health, clinical medicine, forensic science, graphic design, ICT, midwifery, performing arts, and sound engineering.
Certificate holders must have studied air conditioning, electrical installation, film production, mechanical engineering, or veterinary laboratory sciences.
Zanzibar
Degree holders: Required candidates should be competent in accounting, civil engineering, journalism, medicine, and telecommunications.
Diploma holders should have studied clinical medicine, electrical engineering, hospitality management, and human resource management.
Certificate holders should be good in carpentry, driving, electrical installation, hotel management, and tailoring.
