Dar es Salaam. It is confirmed that Barbara Gonzalez will step down as Simba SC Chief Executive Officer in January.
She has already written a letter of resignation from the position at the football giants in the country.
Through her social media account, Barbara on Saturday December 10 posted the letter giving two main reasons that forced her to resign.
Barbara, said she is stepping down to give a chance to the new Board of Directors to choose a new CEO who will go along with their vision.
“Secondly, to give myself a time to fulfill another dream elsewhere,” she said in the letter.
Speaking of her achievement at the club during her time in office, she thanked everyone at the Msimbazi street giants who made the dream of making Simba a big club come true.
“During my time in office the club gained many achievements on and off the pitch, including winning titles, attracting sponsors and being respected as one of the biggest football clubs in Africa,” she said.
However, she admitted that it was not easy for her to reach the decision to resign from her position.
“It’s hard to resign from the work you have been performing with all your heart but it’s true that all the good things have come to an end,” Barbara said.
Barbara, who had been in charge since 2016, was appointed Simba CEO in 2020 to replace South African Senzo Mazingiza who quit to join rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC).
