Dar es Salaam. Geita Gold Football Club head coach Fred Minziro says his side is ready to take revenge on Simba in the Mainland Tanzania NBC Premier league match on Sunday at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza. The two teams will be meeting for the fourth time as Simba have managed to win two times and one match ended in a draw. In the first match held on December 1, 2021, Simba won 1-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and in the second round they recorded a 1-1 draw at the CCM Kirumba Stadium on May 22, this year.

On August 17, the two teams met at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and Simba won 3-0.

Minziro said that only two players will miss the encounter. He named the players as Edmund John, who is nursing an ankle and Saido Ntibazonkiza, who is serving a two-match ban after he was red carded in their last league match against Mtibwa Sugar.

Minziro explained that his players are in good form and all the mistakes made in their last match have been rectified.

“We know Simba’s strength in the league. They are good and I admit that we are facing a tough test. However, we are playing at the home ground, where we need to do our best. Technically and tactically, I am ready to show our prowess as I am still sharpening my squad,” said Minziro.

He said his players are doing fine in training and by the time they travel to Mwanza they will be fit enough to face Simba who are placed third in the league standings.

“I am aware that we lost two out of three matches. It was a lesson that we need to learn. I know it is not going to be easy as Simba are a good team,” he said.

Simba players leave today for Mwanza ahead of the encounter, missing the services of Peter Banda and Israel Mwenda, who are nursing their injuries.
