Military Games gets fresh boost from CRDB Bank

Dar es Salaam. CRDB Bank has donated Sh10 million to the National Military Sports Council Games (BAMATA) scheduled to take place early next month in Morogoro Region.

The donated money is aimed at staging the upcoming games successfully as Sh5 million out of the cash will be spent on purchasing sports gear to be used during the multi-sport event.

The Sh5 million remainder will be used to cover various competition costs, including logistical support, accommodation, and other essential expenses associated with organising the event.

CRDB Bank's Director of Internal Audit, Godfrey Sigalla, handed over a dummy cheque to Brig Gen Said Khamis Saidi during a brief ceremony held at the CRDB Bank Headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

Sigalla expressed CRDB Bank's pride in being at the forefront of supporting sports initiatives in Tanzania, stressing the importance of sports in improving health and fostering sports development within the country.

"CRDB Bank is proud to be at the forefront of appreciating the importance of sports that help improve health and stimulate sports development," said Sigalla.

He further noted that the donation would bring excitement and energy to the games, which are held annually and attract numerous participants from various military units.

"We expect to see highly competitive games in all sports. CRDB Bank recognises the importance of sports development in the country, which is why it has been at the forefront of providing support," added Sigalla.

The CRDB Bank official also encouraged all athletes to feature with dedication and enthusiasm to enhance the level of competition and excitement in the games.

He underscored the bank's commitment to support sports initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being and development of the community.

For his part, Brig Gen Said Khamis Saidi, who received the donation on behalf of BAMATA, praised CRDB Bank for their significant support for the competition.

 He acknowledged the critical role that such contributions play in ensuring the success of the event and boosting the morale of the participants.

"CRDB Bank's support is invaluable, and we are grateful for their continued partnership in promoting sports within the military,” he said.

He further mentioned that various teams are currently in the final stages of preparations for the competitions, and the donation from CRDB Bank would greatly enhance their readiness and performance.

The military games serve as an essential platform for military personnel to showcase their athletic skills, foster camaraderie, and promote physical fitness.
