New twist in transfer saga of Tanzania’s football as Simba’s Chama signs one-year deal with Yanga
Dar es Salaam. The transfer saga involving the talented midfielder whose contract with Simba has ended, Clatous Chama, has taken a new twist.
A Zambian source has revealed that the midfielder has already inked a one-year contract with Yanga.
While neither Chama nor Yanga has officially confirmed the deal, insiders at Yanga suggest that the midfielder will be joining their squad for the upcoming season.
In a surprising development, a prominent figure in the copper trading business attempted a lucrative move to bring Chama back to Zambia to play for the team he sponsors in the country's top league.
The boss commissioned a leading agent to secure Chama swiftly after confirming his contract expiry with Simba.
However, the midfielder, who scored 14 goals last season, gave a surprising response. After discussions with the agent, Chama declined the offer, expressing his desire to remain in Tanzania for another year, though open to playing for a team other than Simba.
"He indicated he plans to return to Tanzania soon to finalize things and would like to continue playing here, despite Zambia being his home. For now, he prefers staying (in Tanzania) for another year," the boss stated.
