Dar es Salaam. Six key Young Africans (Yanga) players will conspicuously not feature in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League clash against Namungo FC today on March 8, 2024, at the Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.

The eagerly-awaited match is slated to kick off at 6pm and the players missing the match include first-choice goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, defender Mutambala Lomalisa, midfielder Khalid Aucho, and attacking midfielders Pacome Zouzoua and Kennedy Musonda.

Added to the roster of the unavailable players in the encounter is striker Joseph Guede Gnadou.

The players have failed to make the trip to Ruangwa in Lindi due to various technical reasons including injury-related ones.

The team's manager, Walter Wilson, expressed concerns about the absence of the key players, but was optimistic that head coach Miguel Gamondi’s squad would deliver a positive result in the encounter.

Wilson assured Yanga fans that despite the setbacks, the team's morale remained high, with other players being eager to shine on the field, aiming to outperform Namungo and bounce back to the top spot in the league standings.

As of now, Yanga hold the second position in the league with 43 points from 16 matches while Azam FC lead the table with 44 points from 20 matches.

Despite the absence of the key players, Yanga will likely be determined to secure victory and maintain their competitive edge in the ongoing Tanzania Mainland Premier League.

In today’s encounter fans can expect an intense and competitive match as both teams will be vying for supremacy on the football pitch.
