Morogoro. Two goals scored by Samson Mbangula were enough for Tanzania Prisons to secure a 2-1 victory against Simba today, March 6, 2024, in the ongoing Tanzania Mainland Premier League match held at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.
Mbangula scored the first goal in the 45+3rd minute following mistakes made by Simba defenders and later in the 61st minute after beating the Msimbazi Street giants’ defenders respectively.
Simba’s goal was scored by Fabrice Ngoma in the 89th minute, utilizing a good corner from Edwin Balua, who is a former Tanzania Prisons attacking midfielder.
The result means Simba remain in third place with 36 points from 16 matches while Tanzania Prisons are in the fifth position with 27 points.

The team's striker, Freddy Michael, missed various scoring chances in the match’s first half. Tanzania Prisons used counter-attacks to beat Simba’s defense in the encounter.
The team's attacking midfielders used fast-breaks against Simba defenders in the duel. Tanzania Prisons head coach Hamad Ally lauded his players for the victory in the encounter.
Ally said they created a few scoring chances and almost 99 percent were used.
“This shows how my players were keen on utilizing scoring chances. I commend them for the victory against a big team in the league,” said Ally.
Simba’s assistant coach Seleman Matola said they played well despite the loss.
“We played against a tough team in the encounter. However, our players did not use all clear scoring chances. We made mistakes and were punished,” said Matola.
