Dar es Salaam. Champions Dar es Salaam Young Africans (Yanga) have officially written to Azam FC requesting permission to hold negotiations with two of their first team players.

The letter comes at a time when analysts have said Yanga could be on a vendetta regarding the latter’s interest in their utility midfielder Feisal Salum Abdullah aka Fei Toto.

Yanga leadership are reportedly in discussions with the want-away attacking midfielder  who was on Thursday seen in a friendly  match between his boyhood club JKU and KMKM in Zanzibar.

Fei Toto has been out of the club’s preps demanding the club hierarchy allows him to join another club after he activated the contract termination clause.

Feisal reportedly paid Sh112 million as per contract requirement, but Yanga leadership have returned the money saying he had violated certain clauses as per the contract.

According to the letter signed by Yanga's Chief Executive Officer Andre Mtine, the Jangwani Street giants request the signature of attacking midfielder, James Akaminko and Kipre Junior.

Mtine said in the letter written on December 28, 2022 with reference number ASC/AZAM/2022/0294 that the club proposes to enter into negotiations with Azam for the acquisition of Akaminko and Kipre.

The letter which has since widely circulated said that Yanga have evaluated its squad and believe the two will further strengthen their team.

"We request you to provide us with transfer conditions including but not limited to their selling price. Kindly note that we would like to conclude this matter within the current transfer window," said the letter.

Azam FC Chief Executive officer Abdulkarim Amin alias Popat confirmed receipt of the letter and promised to reply.

“We have just received the request letter from Yanga and the management will reply very soon,” said Popat

However, he said Yanga still has to pay Azam Sh10 million as outstanding fees regarding the transfer of Gadiel Michael which was concluded some five years ago and the matter will be discussed after the match against Mbeya City.
