Azam vow to come back stronger

Dar es Salaam. Azam FC assistant coach Dennis Kitambi has admitted that Yanga were superior during their Federation Cup 3-1 defeat at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

Yanga completed a treble over a disorganised Azam side with Amissi Tambwe scoring a brace before Deus Kaseke wrapped up the score. Didier Kavumbagu scored Azam’s consolation.

“We have conceded defeat because they (Yanga) were better than us. They created more chances than we did and converted three of them,” he said.

However, Kitambi hailed his players for their performance against rampaging Yanga, adding that they would go back to the drawing board and come back stronger next season.

Yanga won the Charity Shield, Vodacom Premier League and Federation Cup and are in contention for the Caf Confederation Cup. Azam have hired the services of a Spanish head coach Zeben Hernandez after the departure of English Stewart Hall.
