Dar es Salaam. Singida Black Stars head coach, Miguel Gamondi, has expressed confidence that the recent signing of Clatous Chama will significantly enhance the team’s creativity and attacking options in the upcoming season.

Chama, a Zambian attacking midfielder and playmaker, has joined Singida Black Stars on a one-year contract, bringing with him a wealth of experience from top-level Tanzanian football.

Last season, Chama played for Young Africans (Yanga) and was instrumental in helping the Jangwani Street giants secure their fourth consecutive Mainland Tanzania Premier League title.

His vision, passing ability, and knack for scoring crucial goals made him one of the standout performers in the league.

“Clatous is an experienced player who will add quality and creativity to our striking force,” said Gamondi. “With him and other players in the squad, I believe Singida Black Stars will be in a strong position to compete at the highest level in the next league season.”

The move to Singida Black Stars comes after Chama did not renew his contract with Yanga, citing unavoidable reasons. The club acted quickly to secure his services, recognizing his potential to influence games and provide leadership on the pitch.

Joining Chama at Singida Black Stars is former Yanga holding midfielder Khalid Aucho, who has also signed a one-year contract. Aucho, known for his defensive discipline, composure under pressure, and ability to control the tempo of the game, adds further depth to Gamondi’s midfield options.

“Having players of their caliber is crucial for us as we aim to perform well in all competitions,” Gamondi added.

Singida Black Stars have a busy season ahead. In addition to competing in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League, the team will also feature in the CRDB Federation Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The squad is currently participating in the Kagame Cup, giving Gamondi an early chance to integrate his new signings and assess the team’s readiness for the long season ahead. Fans are optimistic that the combination of Chama’s attacking flair and Aucho’s midfield stability will create a balanced and formidable team.

Gamondi is keen to utilize their experience not only to improve the team’s performance on the field but also to mentor younger players and instill a winning mentality across the squad.

“Bringing in high-quality players like Chama and Aucho shows our ambition,” Gamondi said. “We want to compete for trophies and give our supporters exciting football.
