The Msimbazi Street giants continued to press in the second half, with Edwin Balua scoring the third goal in the 66th minute, followed by Ahoua’s second goal just three minutes later, sealing the 4-0 rout.
This victory propels Simba to the top of the standings, leapfrogging their arch-rivals, Young Africans (Yanga).
Simba now sit in first place with 25 points from 10 matches, while Yanga, who will host Tabora United at the Azam Complex, have dropped to second place with 24 points from nine matches.
A win for Yanga would allow them to reclaim the top position, intensifying the competition at the league’s summit.
Meanwhile, the loss sees KMC drop from sixth to seventh place in the standings, with 14 points from 11 matches.
KMC struggled to contain Simba’s aggressive play, and defensive lapses allowed Simba to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Simba’s head coach, Fadlu Davids, commended his players for their performance in the encounter.
“My players put on a great show in today’s match, and I am confident they will continue to deliver impressive results as the league goes on,” said Fadlu.
On his part, KMC head coach Abdihamid Moallin said mistakes made by his players allowed Simba to score easy goals.
“We were punished for the mistakes my players made. This result is not good at all, but we’ll improve and come back stronger after the international break,” said Moallin.
Simba’s recent performances underscore their intent to reclaim the league title and reinforce their status as a formidable force in Tanzanian football.
The team’s attacking prowess was evident, with key players stepping up to secure critical goals.
Ahoua, in particular, stood out with his brace, showcasing his penalty-taking skill and his ability to deliver under pressure.
The league race remains intense as Simba and Yanga continue their battle for supremacy.
