Simba's Zacharia Hans Poppe dies aged 65

Dar es Salaam. Sports stakeholders in the country are mourning the death of the Simba Sports Club board of director member Zacharia Hans Poppe.
Hans Poppe died on Friday night at the Aga Khan Hospital where he had been admitted for two weeks. He was 65.
Apart of being on the Msimbazi giants’ board of directors, HansPope also served as team’s player registration committee chairman for many years.
He was also TFF’s Legal, Ethics and Players’ Status Committee member.
Simba’s management has said they have been shocked by the death of Hans Poppe who played major role for the team development.

Yanga’s spokesman Haji Manara said late Hans Poppe was among the best football leaders in the country who was focused on development.
“We join late Hans Poppe’s family in this difficult time. We will continue to remember him,” said Manara.
Tanzania Football Federation president Wallace Karia said the death of Hans Poppe is a big blow for football stakeholders.
“He was one of our committee members and supported our football programs. We join his family in this difficult mourning period,” said Karia. He said TFF will continue to honour late Hans Poppe’s football development contribution .
“It is open that every football stakeholder knows late HansPope’s contribution in sports development. TFF will honour it,” he said.
