Dar es Salaam. The Government of Tanzania has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sports industry with the Government of Ivory Coast.

The MoU was signed today, January 26, 2024, by Tanzania’s Minister for Culture, Arts, and Sports, Dr Damas Ndumbaro, and Ivory Coast’s Minister for Sports, Adjé Silas.

According to Dr Ndumbaro, the MoU aims to stimulate sports development in the country, including identifying and nurturing talents.

Ndumbaro commended Ivory Coast for its excellent preparations for the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals, saying that Tanzania continues to learn from the West African country on staging the prestigious tournament.

He noted that Tanzania is currently gearing up to construct essential infrastructure such as stadiums and roads ahead of co-hosting the 2027 Afcon finals along with Kenya and Uganda.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Tanzania’s Acting Director of Sports Development, Ally Mayay, and other leaders from Ivory Coast’s Ministry of Sports.
