Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s women’s Futsal national team will tomorrow, April 30, 2025 face hosts Morocco in the grand finale of the CAF Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations at Salle Moulay Abdellah Hall in Rabat.

The match, scheduled to kick off at 8pm Tanzania time, comes just days after Tanzania made history by qualifying for the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup set to take place in the Philippines from November 21 to December 7 this year.

It marks a monumental achievement for Tanzanian women’s football, with the team becoming one of Africa’s pioneering representatives on the world futsal stage.

Tonight’s clash against Morocco is another opportunity for the Taifa Queens to etch their name into African futsal history by lifting the continent’s first-ever women’s futsal championship trophy.

Already riding high after their World Cup qualification, the team is determined to cap their campaign with continental silverware.

Tanzania booked their spot in the final and their ticket to the Philippines after a thrilling 3-2 semifinal win over Cameroon.

Despite facing adversity in the match, including going down to four players following a red card, the Tanzanian side showed incredible composure and fighting spirit to pull through.

“It wasn’t an easy game,” said Tanzania head coach Curtis Reid. “We had a slow start, but the players grew into the match and managed to take control, even after the red card. Their resilience was admirable.”

For their part, hosts Morocco secured their place in the final with a commanding 5-1 victory over Angola.

With home support behind them, the Moroccans are expected to present a tough challenge for the Tanzanian side.

Coach Reid, however, is confident his team is up to the task.

“The morale in camp is very high. We’ve already achieved something historic by qualifying for the World Cup, but now we want to finish this tournament as champions. The players are motivated and ready,” he said.

The final will not only determine the champions of Africa, but it will also serve as a showcase of what both teams can bring to the world stage later this year in the Philippines.

For Tanzania, a victory tonight would be the perfect statement ahead of their World Cup debut and a defining chapter in their rapidly rising futsal journey.
